PTK Holds Spring Induction

Lamar, Colorado, March 20, 2024 Lamar Community College’s Beta Eta Gamma chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society inducted 37 new members during the spring induction ceremony held on Wednesday, March 20. After a welcome from Chapter President Jami Jo Quick and LCC Dean of Academic Services Kyle Lasley, Ian Blacker, Lead Pastor at Lamar Christian Church, and longtime LCC Communications instructor, was the guest speaker. Mr. Blacker shared his experiences with different types of leaders, and emphasized the best qualities of leadership, especially the importance of valuing the people we work with.

Phi Theta Kappa is an international scholastic honor society to recognize and encourage scholarship among two-year college students. The Beta Eta Gamma Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa promotes academic excellence at LCC and is active on campus. Membership is by invitation, based on the student’s overall GPA and level of credits completed. Induction of new members occurs every fall and spring semester.
