Precision Agriculture

The agriculture program has been a staple in the community for decades and we added the Precision Agriculture program recently to serve the needs of the community. With a new CTE building set to open in the fall to house the program, we are ready to develop and deliver a newer, more innovative, and robust program.

Agriculture is evolving as technology continues to develop. Precision agriculture has emerged with an array of new and exciting high-tech tools that integrates computer technology with farm equipment, including drones and satellite applications. This certificate integrates state-of-the-art technology throughout the curriculum to provide students with the knowledge and skills to address a growing industry need in the technology of Precision Agriculture.

In the Precision Agriculture program at LCC, learners are exposed to theoretical and hands-on activities, including Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications, satellite-based guidance systems (GNSS), auto-steer technology, unmanned aircraft systems (Drones), installation and troubleshoots various precision agriculture hardware. The program also provides the knowledge necessary to obtain the FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot license.

Our program is a challenging and rewarding experience that will allow students to earn a certificate and give you the hands-on science and business skills you need to transfer to a four-year university or go directly into the industry locally since LCC is located in an agricultural community.
