Lamar Community College (LCC) is thrilled to announce the much-anticipated unveiling of their new mascot, Lightning the Runnin’ Lope. The College community was buzzing with excitement as they introduced their new energetic and spirited ambassador.
LCC could not have achieved this milestone without the immense support of the TA Express of Lamar, CO, who made LCC’s vision a reality. LCC extends their deepest gratitude to TA Express for generously sponsoring the entire cost of the new mascot, as well as the expenses for the unveiling event that took place on November 1, which included 100 concession stand vouchers and 100 t-shirt giveaways to the audience. TA’s unwavering commitment to education and community unity demonstrates their remarkable leadership and dedication.
Lightning the Runnin’ Lope represents the indomitable spirit and resilience of LCC’s college community. Drawing inspiration from their energetic campus culture, this dynamic mascot embodies the spirit of teamwork, determination, and empowerment that defines the College’s students, faculty, and staff.
In a poignant moment, the College also retired the jersey of their former mascot, Andy, who was a beloved figure in the LCC community for many years. Andy’s infectious energy and countless joyful memories have left a lasting impact on fans of all ages. Andy’s jersey will forever hang in the hallowed halls of LCC as a symbol of the legacy and spirit that this mascot brought to Runnin’ Lopes athletics.
