Lamar Community College recently partnered with ed2go to increase its community education offerings including high-quality, affordable online courses and online career training programs. Through the ed2go|GES courses, anyone can develop new skills and knowledge in order to stand out in today’s competitive job market.

These courses are not offered for credit at LCC but instead teaches a skill or program quickly, allowing individuals to enhance their personal and professional skills and prepares them to launch a new career or advance in an existing one, no matter where they are located.

“This is a great opportunity in two ways,” Cheryl Sanchez, LCC Vice President of Academic and Student Services, explained.  “This is a good way for individuals to learn a specific skill that they may decide to pursue further in the future and obtain a certificate or degree.  Also, it is a quick and inexpensive opportunity for professional development, no matter the field in which you work.”

Comprehensive six-week online courses start monthly, and students can work anytime and anywhere that is convenient for schedule. Each high-quality course includes comprehensive lessons, quizzes, and a discussion area. Dedicated instructors facilitate every course helping to pace learners, answering questions, giving feedback, and facilitating discussions.

These courses are a great opportunity to learn a specific skill or program, including courses on grant writing, medical terminology, Quickbooks, and many more.  There are also a wide range of courses on education and classroom management for those working in area schools.

The Online Career Training Programs are available to start anytime. They range from three to six months, and many programs include an industry certification exam.  Internship and externship opportunities are available for select programs. The classes are entirely web-based, but expert instructors provide office hours and quick answers to any student questions.

These courses are more in-depth and the cost reflects that difference.  Career training programs include a wide range of topics from medical billing and coding to paralegal and much more.

Lamar Community College is pleased to offer this catalog of courses, which provides the most convenient, affordable, and accessible career training programs available anywhere.
