As the leaves change and the academic year begins anew, Lamar Community College (LCC) is noticing a promising trend – a surge in student enrollment. As of September 28, 2023, the institution has witnessed an encouraging increase in enrollment, experiencing a 5.4% increase in Full Time Equivalent (FTE), totaling 260 FTEs, and a 7% boost in headcount compared to the previous fall, resulting in 722 students.
· Continuing Student Population: This segment has seen a noteworthy 9.3% increase, demonstrating the ongoing success of LCC’s existing students.
· Concurrent Enrollment Students: The surge in concurrent enrollment with a 13% increase, underlines the appeal of LCC’s educational offerings to students still in high school and our partnerships with region local high schools.
· New First-Time Students: LCC has welcomed a 6% increase in new first-time students, showcasing¬¬ its ability to attract and enroll new college freshmen and nurture their educational journeys.
· Readmit Students: The return of readmit students has been extraordinary, with an impressive 18% growth, a testament to our focus of helping students finish their degrees and increase their personal and career success.
