Eligibility
To be eligible for consideration for the LCC COSI ASAP program, students must meet all of the following criteria at the time of application:
- Be a Colorado resident
- Be admitted to Lamar Community College
- Demonstrate financial need by submitting either the FAFSA or CAFSA
- Enroll in and intend to complete an associate degree at LCC
- Earned no more than 24 college credit hours post high school
- Credits earned through concurrent enrollment or more than 10 years ago are excluded
- Attempt at least 24 credit hours per academic year

Application
The COSI ASAP application process is simple and includes a short intake step to confirm eligibility and fit.

- Meet with the COSI ASAP Director for an intake conversation.
- Await a decision after your information is reviewed and verified.
Student Responsibilities
As an ASAP student, you play an active role in your success. The program provides support, structure, and guidance, and students are expected to engage consistently and communicate openly in order to remain in good standing.
- Staying engaged with advising: Meet with your ASAP advisor according to your assigned level of support and respond to outreach in a timely way.
- Following your academic plan: Work with your advisor to create and update your academic plan, enroll in courses that apply to your degree, and make steady progress toward completion.
- Maintaining good academic standing: Attend classes, complete coursework, and make a genuine effort to succeed academically. If challenges arise, communicate early with your advisor.
- Participating in required engagement activities: Complete required advising activities, Navigate journeys, reflections, events, tutoring, faculty office hours, or other assigned supports connected to your support level.
- Using financial support responsibly: Understand that ASAP operates as a last-dollar program and that financial support is tied to enrollment, academic progress, and engagement requirements.
- Communicating changes promptly: Inform your advisor right away about changes that may affect your enrollment, housing status, financial aid, or ability to participate in the program.
- Completing required forms and processes: Submit financial aid applications, verification materials, and program forms by stated deadlines.
- Engaging in career development: Participate in at least one Career Readiness activity each semester to support your long-term goals beyond graduation.
Meeting these responsibilities helps ensure that ASAP resources are used effectively and that you receive the full benefit of the program’s support.

As an ASAP student at Lamar Community College, you have access to supports designed to help you stay focused, reduce barriers, and make steady progress toward your associate degree.
Support Tiers
ASAP uses support tiers to match students with the level of guidance they need. All students are expected to follow advisor guidance and complete required tasks, regardless of tier.
- Meet with your ASAP advisor twice per month
- Complete all advisor assigned tasks for the month, which may include reflections, Navigate journeys, follow ups, or other activities designed to support your academic progress
- All students are on High Support during their first ASAP semester
- Meet with your ASAP advisor once per month
- Complete all advisor assigned tasks for the month
- Meet with your ASAP advisor once every other month
- Complete all advisor assigned tasks as assigned
Support levels are not a reward or punishment. They are reviewed each semester based on academic progress, engagement, and individual needs.
