The Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal (SAP) is only necessary for students on “Ineligible Status” who would like to be considered for financial aid in a current or future semester.
Before beginning, gather the following information and documentation in electronic form and have it available to upload when completing the process.
Prepare Your Personal Statement
- Explain why you didn’t meet SAP standards
- Describe how you’ve resolved the issue
- Share your plan for future success in college
Gather Supporting Documents
- Provide any documents that support your explanation.
- If no documentation is available, get a letter from a credible third party (e.g., pastor, counselor) confirming your circumstances.
- Ensure the letter is signed, dated, or sent from an official email address.
Get Your DegreeCheck
- Log in to LopeAccess, save or scan your DegreeCheck as a PDF.
Submit Your Appeal
- Complete the online SAP Appeal Form or fill out the printable SAP Appeal form.
