Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal Process

The Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal (SAP) is only necessary for students on “Ineligible Status” who would like to be considered for financial aid in a current or future semester.

Before beginning, gather the following information and documentation in electronic form and have it available to upload when completing the process.

Prepare Your Personal Statement

  • Explain why you didn’t meet SAP standards
  • Describe how you’ve resolved the issue
  • Share your plan for future success in college

Gather Supporting Documents

  • Provide any documents that support your explanation.
  • If no documentation is available, get a letter from a credible third party (e.g., pastor, counselor) confirming your circumstances.
  • Ensure the letter is signed, dated, or sent from an official email address.
