Civic Engagement

Lamar Community College believes in the power of our student leaders and their voice in our country!

LCC strives to provide opportunities for our students to engage in local, state, and federal civic events. We provide students the foundation for expressing themselves and their opinions in voting, law, and their educational rights as a student.

Each year, LCC faculty, staff, and students participate in the annual Rock The Vote event. Rock the Vote is a national movement encouraging students to register to vote in upcoming elections and exercise their rights to vote in the United States.

Stay tuned for more details concerning events to promote Rock The Vote on the LCC campus. We will have several opportunities for students to complete voter registration forms so that they will be prepared to vote in upcoming elections!

On September 17, LCC will celebrate and recognize Constitution Day. Constitution Day commemorates the formation and signing of the U.S. Constitution by thirty-nine brave men on September 17, 1787, recognizing all who are born in the U.S. or by naturalization, have become citizens.

Stay tuned for more details concerning observances of Constitution Day on the LCC campus!
