Lamar Community College debuts new virtual bookstore

This summer, Lamar Community College launched a brand new virtual bookstore.  By partnering with eCampus, LCC will now be able to provide students with greater flexibility, more textbook options and significant savings on course materials.

The virtual bookstore is already fully functional and available to students at lamarcc.ecampus.com.

eCampus offers a large selection of new, used, rental, eBook and Marketplace inventory.  This means that not only can students select the book format that best suits their own learning style, but they can also find all their books in one place without needing to shop around for the best possible price.  Additionally, they can order books at any time of the day or night and they have the option to ship those books directly to their doorstep.

Even though LCC has transitioned to an online bookstore, students will still have the opportunity to sell their textbooks back at the end of each semester.

LCC and eCampus have coordinated efforts to streamline the book-buying process by integrating the bookstore with each individual’s course schedule within LopeAccess, LCC’s student portal.  Once a someone has registered for classes at LCC, they can use LopeAccess to enter the bookstore, which will automatically show the textbooks they need for the courses in which they have enrolled.  Students then simply explore the book type options, select the books they wish to purchase, and complete the online checkout.  If they have financial aid funding available for textbooks, it will automatically be applied to their purchase total.
