Scholarships available for the fall semester at Lamar Community College

The fall semester is right around the corner at Lamar Community College with classes set to start August 21.  And, for those taking fall classes, opportunities for scholarship funding are still available including Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative (COSI) funds and the Daniels Fund Boundless Opportunity EMT Scholarship.

COSI scholarship funds are dedicated to supporting students from the five counties within the LCC service area including Baca, Bent, Cheyenne, Kiowa and Prowers Counties.  COSI scholarships are still available for Baca, Bent, Cheyenne and Prowers County students, while funds for Kiowa County have all been allocated.

These students can receive up to $750 each semester, if enrolled full time.  To be eligible for the COSI scholarship, the student must have filed their 2017-2018 FAFSA with LCC with an Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) of 13320 or less, be a resident of the four counties listed above, be a Colorado resident (U.S. citizen or FAFSA-eligible permanent resident), and be working toward a certificate or degree.

The Boundless Opportunity Scholarship is available to students completing the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Basic certificate this fall.  This scholarship can cover a significant portion of the student’s cost.  Interested students should apply as soon as possible; the application deadline is set for August 15.

Students interested in either scholarship can apply online at www.lamarcc.edu/scholarships.
