Evening classes CANCELLED for January 22

Morning and afternoon classes are proceeding as scheduled for January 22 and campus will be open until 5:00pm.  However, due to the potential for worsening conditions and poor roads, all evening classes have been cancelled and campus will close at 5:00pm.

Students and staff are expected to use their discretion as to if it is safe to travel to campus; if you can not make the trip, be sure to contact your teacher as soon as possible.

For the most current information regarding Lamar Community College closures, please monitor the LCC social media outlets or call the Campus Closure Line at 719.336.1515.

In cases of inclement weather, Lamar Community College follows the Campus Closure Process.

College facilities and safety personnel will monitor weather, road conditions, and parking access in order to provide updates to the college president, who makes the final decision about campus closures. In times of inclement weather, the following process will be followed:

  • Morning closure decisions will be made by 5:45 am and shared to local radio, on the college website/social media, and added as a message to the Campus Closure Line (719-336-1515) no later than 6:00 am.
  • Mid-day closure decisions will be made on an as-needed basis and shared to local radio, on the college website/social media, and added as a message to the Campus Closure Line (719-336-1515) within 15 minutes of a closure decision.
  • Evening closure decisions will be made by 2:45 pm and shared to local radio, on the college website/social media, and added as a message to the Campus Closure Line (719-336-1515) no later than 3:00 p.m.
