Lamar Community College and CSU Southeast Area Agronomy will host the 3rd Annual Southeast Crops and Livestock Expo (SCALE) on Friday, February 8, in the LCC Wellness Center. SCALE is a full day of free information for agriculture produces and those interested in agriculture.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will feature Colorado State University College of Agricultural Sciences economists providing an ag outlook and strategy session, along with a presentation by former Colorado Ag Commissioner Don Brown.

Kelly Roesch, Southeast Area Agent for Agronomy and Cropping Systems and one of the event’s organizers, invites and encourages local producers to attend the event.

“The morning sessions will feature presentations from CSU’s Agriculture & Business Management group,” said Roesch. “Come learn what effect the new farm bill and the government shut down may have on the commodity markets and crop insurance programs.”

A trade show of agriculture supporters and vendors will also be available throughout the day in the Wellness Center gym. Vendor spaces are available; to register as a vendor, visit www.kvay.com/scale.

At noon, lunch will available for $7 courtesy of the LCC Aggie and Equine Clubs.

SCALE is co-sponsored by Lamar Community College, KVAY 105.7, KLMR News Radio 920, KBLJ Radio, and the Colorado State University Extension.

SCALE will begin at 8:00am on February 8.  Anyone involved with or interested in production agriculture is encouraged to attend the event.
