The Lamar Community College Cosmetology Salon invites the community to join them for another great event, this time honoring LCC alumni. The Salon will host its LCC Alumni Day at on July 27, from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
All proceeds from that day’s services will go towards a Cosmetology Scholarship administered by the LCC Foundation.
Everyone is invited to the event, not just LCC alumni. Anyone interested in making an appointment can call 719.336.4408.
Kendra King, Cosmetology faculty at LCC, is excited to start the tradition of Alumni Day. Not only will be event be fun and give the current Cosmetology students some great practice, but it will help the department to better support future students as well.
“Part of why we wanted to host this event is to help start a scholarship fund for Cosmetology students,” King said. “I want to have scholarship funds available to help students who are unable to get assistance from other scholarships, financial aid or grants. This way we can help support those students who may be unable to get financial help and are struggling to pay for the program out of pocket.”
King noted that the department plans to host an Alumni Day each semester to continue this effort.
The LCC Cosmetology Salon is located in the lower level of the Trustees Building on the LCC campus at 2401 S. Main Street in Lamar.
