LCC announces Thanksgiving holiday closures

With the Thanksgiving holiday quickly approaching, Lamar Community College has several closures and schedule adjustments to announce.

All of campus will be closed on Thursday, November 22, for Thanksgiving Day. Friday, November 23, has also been designated as a Governor’s Holiday for state employees; for this, most of LCC will remain closed, but Campus Safety Officer Terry Comer will be on campus.

LCC’s Thanksgiving break is set for November 19-25, during which time there will be no classes held on campus.  Certain departments on campus will have additional closures or adjustments to open hours including The Study (tutoring lab in Bowman 129), Library, and Fitness Center.

The Study will be closed November 17-24. Sunday tutoring will resume on November 25 with extended hours to help students prepare for their upcoming finals.  The Study will be open from 1:00-9:00pm on November 25, and additional extended hours will be posted then.

The Library will be open Monday through Wednesday, November 19-21, from 8:00am to 5:00pm. It will be closed Thursday and Friday, and reopen the following Monday, November 26.

The Fitness Center will close at 1:00pm on Wednesday, November 21, and will reopen and resume regular hours on Monday, November 26. For additional information, contact the Fitness Center at 719.336.1672.

Registration is currently open for the spring semester at LCC.  Individuals interested in registering for courses should plan to come in to campus and meet with an advisor prior to the holiday closure, if possible, or as soon as possible after campus fully reopens on November 26.
