Grand Opening set for LCC’s Innovate & Make Space

Lamar Community College will host a Grand Opening celebration of its new Innovate & Make Space on Thursday, November 2, 2017, from 5:30-8:00pm.  The celebration will take place in the Betz Technology Center Atrium and Room 100.

The entire community is invited to join LCC for a night of exciting new opportunities at the college.  During the Grand Opening, guests will be able to see the wide range of I&MS machines at work including the 3D printers, laser cutter, vinyl cutter, milling machine, industrial sewing machines, and more.

Laura Misenheimer, the Innovate & Make Space Manager, is excited about the grand launch and having so many new people in the space.

“We are excited to open up the space, invited everyone in and see the amazing things that come from it,” Misenheimer said.  “Please come and see what your local maker space is doing!”

Guests will have the opportunity to win prizes including ten free certification classes, three monthly memberships, and various creations made by the I&MS Master Certified Volunteers on the equipment.  Refreshments will also be provided.

People are encouraged to come, ask questions, and even sign-up for classes if they choose.

Anyone interested in learning more about the LCC Innovate & Make Space should contact Laura Misenheimer at 719.336.1584 or at laura.misenheimer@lamarcc.edu.
