Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper and members of his Cabinet will host a town hall event at Lamar Community College on Wednesday, April 19, from 6:00-7:30pm. The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held in the LCC Wellness Center.
The town hall will feature remarks by Gov. Hickenlooper and Lt. Gov. Donna Lynne, as well as several members of the cabinet including Kim Hunter Reed, Executive Director of the Department of Higher Education; Shailen Blatt, Executive Director of the Department of Transportation; and Stephanie Copeland, Executive Director of the Office of Economic Development.
Doug Friednash, Gov. Hickenlooper’s Chief of Staff, will serve as moderator for the event.
The town hall will address topics of interest to the communities of southeastern Colorado including agriculture, higher education, transportation, and economic development. A question-and-answer session will follow.
“Lamar Community College is honored to host this event,” said LCC President Dr. Linda Lujan. “It is always good for citizens in southeast Colorado to hear directly from state leadership as well as share our opinions and questions with the Governor and his leadership team. Our students will also have a great opportunity to learn more about civic engagement. We are delighted to open our doors to the community.
