Generous Donors Fund New Gym Floor

Lamar Community College (LCC) Foundation is thrilled to announce a generous donation for the installation of a new gym floor. This contribution will elevate the quality of the Runnin’ Lopes’ athletic facilities, benefiting both students and the wider community.

This upgrade has been made possible by two incredible donors to the Lamar Community College Foundation, Scooters Coffee and KLMR Riverside Communications, both of which have long been supporters of local initiatives and are committed to improving community resources.

“Our gym is more than just a place for physical activity; it is a hub for student life, community events, and a source of pride for our institution. This contribution will not only enhance our athletic facilities, ensuring that our gym remains a state-of-the-art facility, but also inspire our students and athletes to strive for excellence,” said Dr. Rosana Reyes, President of LCC.

“On behalf of LCC College staff, students, and faculty, I extend my deepest gratitude to Dale Willhite from Scooters Coffee and Kirk Crespin from KLMR Riverside Communications for their support and commitment to our college. Their investment in our athletic facility is an investment in our students’ futures and the vitality of our college and community.”

Work on the new gym floor has already commenced and is expected to be completed by July 25th. The college is also upgrading to digital scoreboards. The new LED video boards will be a versatile addition, showcasing LCC news, events, and athletic competitions with live video capabilities.

“The newly refurbished gym floor and cutting-edge LED video boards are not just upgrades but symbols of our dedication to providing top-notch athletic and community spaces,” shared Benjamin Griffin, LCC’s Athletic Director. “These enhancements will elevate our events, heighten spectator experiences, and create a vibrant hub for student life and community engagement.”

LCC appreciates the patience and understanding of their students, staff, and supporters as they work to bring this exciting project to fruition.
