LCC Learning Garden Dedication set for September 20

Lamar Community College will celebrate the completion of its new Learning Garden with a dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony to be held Thursday, September 20, at 10:30am.  The celebration is open to the public and will include light refreshments.

The Learning Garden, located on the grounds just south of the Betz Technology Center, was made possible by a grant from the Colorado Garden Foundation and the hard work of students and faculty in the Agriculture, Construction Trades, and Renewable Energy programs.

LCC will welcome two special guests for the celebration: Jim Fricke, Executive Director of the Colorado Garden Foundation, and Adam Cermak, Executive Director of the Foundation for Colorado Community Colleges.

In addition to the ribbon cutting and dedication, two LCC students will receive the inaugural Colorado Garden Foundation scholarships.  Fricke will present Kylie Miller (Las Animas) and Thomas Torres II (Lamar) with their scholarship checks.
