On Tuesday, September 26, the LCC Cosmetology Salon opened its doors to the public with an NFL Kick-Off party. Students and faculty represented their favorite NFL team and visitors to the Salon could “kick-off” on a miniature football field to earn discounts on their services that day.
Kendra King, Cosmetology instructor, was happy with the opening day turnout.
“I like having themed events in the Salon. It gives the students a chance to wear something other than dress code attire, and it gives the salon a different energy and atmosphere for the day,” King said. “We have several more themed events planned for the year.”
The Salon is now open Tuesday and Wednesday, 1:00-5:00pm, and Thursday, 9:30am-5:00pm.
LCC students and community members alike can visit the salon to take advantage of discounted cosmetology services such as haircuts, colors, and styling as well as brow and lip waxing services, manicures, pedicures, and more.
King is proud of her students and all they’ve been able to learn so far this semester.
“We have a very talented group of students this year in both the Barber and Cosmetology department,” she said. “I am excited about the level of talent they bring to the Salon floor. The salon is full service, from hot shaves to color to pedicures.”
